ABOUT ME

David Pietryla

Public Servant. Community Leader. Independent Thinker.

“I want to ensure we continue making progress in the right direction and with the highest standards of transparency, collaboration and fiscal responsibility.” – David Pietryla

My family moved to St. Charles 28 years ago, and I’m a proud graduate of St. Charles High School. While I spent time away for college, graduate school and to pursue professional opportunities, I returned to my hometown, St. Charles, over a decade ago.

It’s been such a privilege to serve on the St. Charles City Council, representing the 4th ward, for the past four years. I’m proud of the work I’ve accomplished in collaboration with my Council colleagues, my constituents, and the St. Charles business community. We have made great progress, and I am eager to continue serving this incredible city I call home.

I am an independent thinker, and my voting record is evidence of just that. I represent the St. Charles  residents and not special interest groups.

In addition to my role as council person, I serve as the president of the St. Charles Education Foundation.  I also serve as the City’s liaison to the St. Charles History Museum. I have held several civic and volunteer positions previously, as listed below. I work in government affairs for a utility company, and have former work experience as an educator and in community relations and economic development.

In my free time, I love to spend time with my friends and family. I also enjoy spending time at the gym and taekwondo, taking an occasional dance lesson and frequenting our local businesses to experience all our community has to offer.
